so jeanne hit us yesterday [sunday], and in so doing, became the fourth major storm to hit florida this season. by the time it got to us, though, jeanne was just a piddly little tropical storm.
lots of rain, some wind. our power went out around 8:30, right in the middle of dinner. it went out, then about 2 minutes later, came back on, and we rejoiced, and it promptly went back out.
so we did the dishes in the dark.
watched a movie and some aqua teen on our laptops [due to limited battery life, we kept having to switch somps]. ate a bunch of ice cream because we figured it wouldn't keep if the power stayed out long. around 11:30, the power came back on, and we rejoiced. then it flickered back out.
damn you, electricity, and your toying with our emotions!
so we sat around, listened to emily play some guitar. rose's dad called and said he'd pay for us to stay in a motel overnight since we had no ac or anything, so phone calls were made and we ended up getting a room at the days in on newberry. i felt like a damn pansy, going to a motel just because we had no power [when charlie hit, we were without power at home for four or five days and we didn't wuss out and go to some 'motel' with 'electricity'].
but we went, and there was ac, and power, and we brought the xbox with us and so there was Gladius, and it was good.
power came back on at the house around 11 am, we went home. been here ever since, doin' a little homework and enjoying the day off from classes. total damages from jeanne amounted to throwing away the dairy stuff we had in the fridge. everything else was fine.
drinkin' a gatorade now. mmmm...fruit punch.
ok, it's five am now, and i'm going to bed, so
later all
